Job summary

Amphenol Communications Solutions in Etters, PA, seeks an Engineering Lead for Engineering Operations & Strategic Projects to partner with the Director of Engineering on high-priority initiatives and lead cross-functional projects.

This role develops into broader engineering leadership, focusing on Lean Engineering, process improvements, and strategic planning across Mechanical, Electrical, Reliability, and Manufacturing teams.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or related discipline.
• 5+ years of engineering experience in a manufacturing or product development.
• Experience leading technical projects across cross-functional teams.
• Strong organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to influence without direct authority.
• High level of initiative, curiosity, and desire to learn.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Partner directly with the Director of Engineering on high-priority technical and operational initiatives.
• Lead special engineering projects that span multiple product lines, engineering functions, and manufacturing sites.
• Assist in executing strategic initiatives supporting engineering growth, organizational effectiveness, and continuous improvement.
• Analyze technical and business challenges and develop recommendations for leadership decision-making.
• Manage cross-functional engineering projects from concept through implementation.
• Coordinate activities between Mechanical, Electrical, Reliability, Test Development, Manufacturing, Quality, and Program Management teams.
• Drive project schedules, risk mitigation, issue resolution, and executive reporting.
• Support engineering resource planning and prioritization across multiple development programs.
• Help improve engineering processes, metrics, documentation, and reporting.
• Identify opportunities to increase engineering efficiency through standardization and best practices.
• Participate in engineering reviews, customer discussions, and strategic planning sessions.
• Shadow the Director of Engineering to gain exposure to organizational leadership, engineering strategy, customer engagement, product development, business planning, talent development, and financial decisions.
• Build working relationships across all engineering disciplines and business functions.
• Assume increasing levels of ownership and leadership responsibility over time.
• Champion Lean Engineering and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Support implementation of engineering tools, workflows, and best practices.
• Identify opportunities to improve communication and collaboration across engineering teams.
