We have an exciting remote opportunity for an Engineering Lead – Model Based Design, Definition, Manufacturing and Inspection Interoperability (MB-DMI)!

Department/Segment Overview: Engine Design & Systems Integration (EDSI) Commercial Engines and Military Engines organizations are focused on delivering systems solutions to meet customer requirements, driving engineering quality and productivity, and developing the next generation if systems engineer. EDSI is responsible for the integration of components, modules, and sub-systems into world class commercial and military propulsion systems.

This Model Based Design, Definition, Manufacturing and Inspection role will help fill a strategic role within the Model Based Design, Definition, Manufacturing and Inspection team targeting development of Interoperable product requirements and working with strategic partners to support solutions.

What you will Do:

  • Drive Model Based Design, Definition, Manufacturing and Inspection strategy with a focus on Model based Design, Definition and Characterization and horizontal alignment at across various Engineering departments, Engine Programs, Operations, Engineering Mod Centers, Disciplines, etc.
  • Develop, Drive & execute MB-Design, Definition and MI with a focus on Model-based Design, Definition and Characterization in the creation of Standards, digital tools, and training for future state creation of Product definition for interoperability.
  • Support strategy and horizontal alignment at MB-Design, Definition and MI across Engineering, Manufacturing, Global Supply Chain, Quality disciplines for interoperability.
  • Develop & execute MB-Design, Definition and MI with creation of Standards, digital tools, and training for digital thread using product definition data sets.
  • Develop, Drive & execute MB-Design, Definition and MI with a focus on Model based Definition and Product Characteristic creation with MB-Design, Definition and MI software tools and vendors.
  • Communication, outreach, and education across all levels of Engineering (executive reviews, CIPT, IPMT, SIPT, EDSI, Discipline Meetings, developmental programs, producers, software vendors), as well as outside of engineering.
  • Principal focal for establishing the following Quality Management System (QMS) documentation:
    • Product Characterization within Model Based Design and Definition
    • Tools the practitioners will use to apply the product characteristics and generate derivatives that contain the characteristics
    • Provide support to practitioners to resolve help desk tickets associated with MBD tools
    • Work with software vendors in the evaluation, development, debugging, and evolution of software tools to support characterization
    • Participate in industry standards, working groups and consortiums to drive maturity Interoperability & Characterization
  • Travel up to 20%.

Qualifications You Must Have:

  • Bachelor of Science Degree in Engineering and 12+ years of Engineering experience; or an Advanced Degree in a related field and 10+ years of Engineering experience.
  • 7+ years of demonstrated leadership competencies should include Focus on Results; Teamwork; Analytical thinking; Communication and Listening Skills.
  • The ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government issued security clearance is required.
  • U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance.

Qualifications We Prefer:

  • Strong knowledge of Model Based Manufacturing and Inspection.
  • Experience with manufacturing, quality, and aftermarket operations.
  • Ability to take initiative, support strategic priorities, take ownership of assigned projects/initiatives and independently drive for results.

The salary range for this role is 147,000 USD - 295,000 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.

Hired applicants may be eligible for benefits, including but not limited to, medical, dental, vision, life insurance, short-term disability, long-term disability, 401(k) match, flexible spending accounts, flexible work schedules, employee assistance program, Employee Scholar Program, parental leave, paid time off, and holidays. Payments under these annual programs are not guaranteed and are dependent upon a variety of factors including, but not limited to, individual performance, business unit performance, and/or the company’s performance.
