Job summary

Avathon is hiring an Engineering Lead to build and run the Logistics and Transportation product on the Avathon platform. You will lead a team delivering shipment, carrier and TMS data integrations, and develop AI-enabled features that predict delays and manage exceptions.

The role requires hands-on coding, architecture ownership, and close collaboration with product managers to align roadmap and deliver reliable, scalable logistics services in a fast-growing startup environment.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of software engineering experience.
• 3+ years leading engineers.
• Backend skills in Python/Java/Go; APIs and integrations.
• Experience with real-time data and event streaming.
• Familiarity with EDI, carrier APIs and TMS data models.
• Cloud experience (GCP or AWS).

Responsibilities

• Own the logistics architecture for the platform, including shipment and event models and ETA services.
• Lead and mentor a team of engineers; set priorities and review designs and code.
• Collaborate with the Logistics product manager on roadmap, scope and release planning.
• Ensure reliability, performance, and scalable logistics services in production.
