Job summary

Liberty University seeks a Director of Engineering Labs to provide strategic leadership for engineering laboratory operations, facilities, and infrastructure across the School of Engineering. You will oversee lab managers, staff, and student employees, ensuring safe, compliant, and efficient environments that support teaching, research, and innovation.

The role drives multi-year strategic plans, capital planning, and budget management, while aligning lab capabilities with university goals.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering and 5+ years of related field experience required.
• Master’s degree preferred for advanced leadership responsibilities.
• Knowledge of safety, regulatory requirements, and lab operations is required.

Responsibilities

• Develop and execute a comprehensive multi-year strategic plan for engineering lab operations.
• Lead capital planning, facility development, and modernization initiatives.
• Establish and monitor KPIs to evaluate operational effectiveness across labs.
• Oversee budgets, procurement, contract negotiations, and resource forecasting.
• Ensure safety, compliance, and risk management across all campuses and labs.
• Partner with faculty and leadership to advance research capabilities and industry partnerships.
