A leading company in Bethlehem is seeking an Engineering Lab Technician to conduct various electrical and electronic tests on prototype systems. This onsite role requires technical skills, including familiarity with PCB boards, Inverter power circuits, and UL testing. Candidates should possess an Associate's degree or related experience and be proficient in Microsoft Word and Excel.
We are seeking an Engineering Lab Technician to join our Engineering department in Bethlehem, PA. The Lab Technician conducts a variety of electrical and electronic tests on electrical/electronic prototype systems, subsystems, and components to ensure unit functions as per power and control specifications. Familiarity with PCB control board verification and testing is desirable.
**This role is onsite 5 days per week in Bethlehem, PA**
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
\- Able to read and understand technical specifications, wiring diagrams, and schematics of systems/subsystems to understand and determine testing procedure and equipment to be used.
\- Tests functional performance of systems, subsystems, and components under specified electrical conditions such as voltage, power, temperature, and load.
\- Connects system/subsystem unit to be tested to equipment such as signal generator, frequency meter, DC/AC power supply and oscilloscope.
\- Reads dials or digital displays that indicate electronic characteristics such as voltage, frequency, distortion, inductance, and capacitance.
\- Compares results with specifications and records test data or plots test results on graphs.
\- Analyzes test results on test units to determine cause of malfunction.
\- Confers with engineers, technicians, and others regarding testing procedures and results to resolve issues.
\- Familiarity with IGBT/MOSFET based Inverter power circuit desirable.
\- Lead Acid Battery knowledge is desirable.
\- Able to conduct UL required test on Inverter unit.
Requirements
Associate's degree (A. A.) or equivalent from two-year college or technical school; or 2 yrs technical training / experience (i.e. trade school, military, or other employment in electronics/electrical field). Skilled at using Microsoft Word and Excel.
