Job summary

The Pennsylvania State University in State College, PA seeks a Lab Coordinator - Engineering to oversee the safe, efficient operation of teaching and research laboratories. You will coordinate scheduling, training, and safety compliance while serving as the department's primary purchaser for lab needs.

You will support faculty, researchers, and students with experiments, equipment, and supplies, and coordinate preventive maintenance, inspections, and documentation across the department.

Qualifications

• Experience coordinating engineering, research, or instructional laboratory operations.
• Experience with safety programs, inventories, and incident documentation.
• Experience with purchasing processes, vendor coordination, and budget monitoring.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate laboratory scheduling and readiness for teaching and research activities.
• Support faculty and students in planning experiments and selecting supplies.
• Serve as laboratory safety officer and coordinate safety activities.
• Ensure compliance with university policies and regulatory requirements.
• Coordinate inspections and maintain safety plans and inventories.
• Manage purchasing transactions, quotes, deliveries, and invoicing.
• Maintain equipment inventories and coordinate maintenance and calibration.
