Job summary

Dexter engineers a wide range of axles and towing components in a safety-conscious, collaborative environment. The Engineering Intern will assist with projects that support manufacturing operations, continuous improvement, safety, automation, and process efficiency in a real-world setting.

Potential locations include Northern Indiana (Elkhart, Albion, Fremont). The role emphasizes hands-on project work, documentation, and close collaboration with Engineering and Operations teams.

Qualifications

• Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
• Clear written, verbal, and interpersonal communication.
• Ability to adapt to changing priorities in a fast-paced environment.
• Pursuing a bachelor’s or master’s in Engineering or related field (Industrial/Mechanical/Safety engineering preferred).

Responsibilities

• Support continuous improvement and manufacturing efficiency projects.
• Assist with automation and capital improvement projects.
• Conduct time studies and evaluate production processes.
• Create drawings, documentation, and training materials to support engineering projects.
• Collaborate with Engineering, Operations and team members on assigned projects.
