Job summary

Mackin Engineers & Consultants is seeking a motivated 2027 Summer Engineering Intern in Pittsburgh. You will gain hands-on experience across multiple disciplines while working with licensed professional engineers and project teams.

Current enrollment in a Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, especially Civil, and familiarity with AutoCAD or Civil 3D are desirable, with flexible part-time hours to fit academic commitments.

Qualifications

• Enrolled in a Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Civil preferred).
• Completion of foundational engineering coursework preferred.
• Familiarity with AutoCAD, Civil 3D, or similar engineering software is a plus.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Assist with engineering analysis, design, and planning tasks across multiple disciplines.
• Support the preparation of engineering plans, technical reports, calculations, and documentation.
• Perform quantity takeoffs, data analysis, and basic engineering computations.
• Assist with drafting, modeling, and plan production using AutoCAD, Civil 3D, and other software as applicable.
• Participate in field visits, inspections, surveys, and data collection as needed.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary project teams and attend internal and client meetings.
• Provide general project and administrative support as assigned.

Position Overview

Mackin Engineers & Consultants is seeking a motivated 2027 Summer Engineering Intern currently pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Engineering to join our Pittsburgh office. This position offers flexible hours and exposure to a variety of engineering and consulting services while working closely with licensed professional engineers and project teams.
