Massman Construction Co. is offering an internship in civil engineering focused on construction of bridges, heavy civil, and marine projects across the United States.

Interns work with Field and/or Office Engineers, gaining exposure to safety, quality, planning, estimating, contracts, scheduling, and inspection on diverse projects. Candidates are pursuing civil engineering, construction engineering, or construction management and should show knowledge of design in wood, steel and concrete and

• Candidates must be completing their course of study in civil engineering, construction engineering, construction management, or related field.
• Solid knowledge of design principles in wood, steel and concrete and ability to read and express designs in drawings/ sketches.
• General knowledge of the A/E/C industry.
• Self-motivated with proven ability to lead collaborative efforts.
• Excellent grammar, composition and verbal/interpersonal communication skills.
• Interest in working with an industry-leading self-perform contractor in heavy civil and marine construction.

About the Internship

This position provides candidates with an opportunity to gain first‑hand experience in the construction industry. Working with a Field and/or Office Engineer, the intern will be exposed to different aspects of the construction of unique and challenging bridge, heavy civil, and marine projects throughout the United States.

Responsibilities and Duties

Responsibilities and duties for this position will vary depending on the needs of each project. They typically can include learning about elements of construction such as safety, quality, heavy lift planning, construction estimating, contract management, scheduling, and construction inspection.

Requirements
