Job summary

Summit-Polymers- in Michigan is seeking an Intern, Engineering to support the development and design of components involved in a product. You will work with the Engineering Manager and assist in prototype and pre-production parts.

You will participate in Product Development Team meetings, mock up parts for changes, and help with testing, inspection, and documentation of engineering samples. This role emphasizes hands-on learning and collaboration.

Qualifications

• Enrollment in an Engineering degree program.
• Ability to gather and analyze information and make decisions from a limited number of choices.
• Follow work instructions from engineering team.
• Minimum Score of 50 on the Wonderlic Select Assessment.

Responsibilities

• Build prototype and pre-production parts
• Assist Project Engineers in sample tooling
• Assist Project Engineers as assigned
• Participate in Product Development Team (PDT) meetings
• Mock up existing parts to simulate potential changes or new products
• Mock up testing and analysis to determine if proposed changes are effective
• Inspection and documentation of incoming and outgoing product
• Inventory of engineering samples at build area and tracking of defective product
• Assist in in part dimensional verification (SDS)
• Other duties as assigned by manager.
