Job summary

Miller Industries is offering a paid internship in the Chattanooga area supporting the engineering team in analyzing and documenting production processes.

You will observe production lines, conduct time studies, and process data using advanced MS Excel tools, collaborating with production personnel and engineers. This hands-on role provides exposure to manufacturing fundamentals and opportunities to contribute to process improvements.

Qualifications

  • Pursuing or holding a Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Process, Industrial, Manufacturing or Mechanical).
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment.
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Willingness to learn and take initiative.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct time studies to analyze production processes.
  • Observe and support manufacturing floor activities to gain practical experience.
  • Assist with evaluating existing production processes to identify inefficiencies and improvement opportunities.
  • Support data collection, analysis, and reporting related to process performance (scrap, cycle time, throughput, downtime).
  • Collaborate with production, quality, and engineering teams.
  • Perform other related tasks and projects as assigned by Engineering Manager.
