Job summary

Associated Electric Cooperative is offering paid engineering internships at our Headquarters facility in Springfield, Missouri, for the 2026–2027 school year. The program provides opportunities across multiple engineering departments with fall, spring, and summer openings.

Candidates may receive course credit through their school’s career center. Qualifying applicants must be enrolled in engineering or related fields and have completed at least two years of bachelor’s degree coursework.

Qualifications

• Must be currently enrolled in an engineering-related program.
• Must have completed at least two years of coursework toward a bachelor's degree.

Responsibilities

• Analyze electrical system data and assist with transmission, distribution, or other studies.
• Support relay, protection, coordination, load flow, system modeling and other analyses.
• Assist with testing, data collection, and reviewing reports for accuracy.
• Work with engineers to investigate system events, trends, or reliability concerns.
• Support plant and system improvement projects involving equipment, maintenance, controls, PLC systems.
• Help develop and maintain engineering tools, databases, scripts, procedures, and reports.
• Assist with project specs, contractor information, and engineering recommendations.
