Caterpillar’s Pontiac, IL facility is seeking a Part-Time Intern – Engineering to join a team of engineers, quality, maintenance and production professionals supporting fuel system and aftertreatment components. You will contribute to safety, quality, velocity and cost improvements while gaining hands-on experience.

The role blends school-year part-time hours with full-time summer work. You’ll use Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Minitab to analyze data, develop presentations, and support

Qualifications

• Must be enrolled full-time at a 2-year or 4-year college/university.
• Commute daily to Pontiac, IL facility.
• Expected graduation date of 2028 or beyond.
• Interest in engineering, quality, or statistics.
• Strong communication and analytical skills.

Responsibilities

• Analyze data with Excel and Minitab.
• Prepare presentations using Word and PowerPoint.
• Document machine results in SharePoint.
• Support continuous improvement projects with 6-Sigma tools.
• Collaborate with operations and engineering on new equipment.
