Job summary

Oxy invites motivated engineering students to join its Summer Intern Program for a 12-week session from May to August, with hands-on participation in core oil and gas operations. Interns are paired with a manager and mentor to gain real-life project experience and attend training, lunches, field trips, and leadership discussions.

Final placements may include Production, Facilities, Reservoir, Drilling and Completions, or Operations Engineering, with relocation housing options and a 9/80 work

Qualifications

• Pursuing a degree in Engineering.
• Minimum cumulative GPA 2.85 on a 4.0 scale.
• Graduation date between December 2027 and May 2029.
• Interest in Oil and Gas career.

Responsibilities

• Work on real-life projects with guidance from a manager and mentor.
• Participate in trainings, lunch-and-learns, field trips, and leadership meetings.
• Support operations across production, facilities, reservoir, drilling and completions, or operations engineering.

Oxy’s Summer Intern Program runs from May to August for a full 12 weeks. As an Oxy intern, you will have the opportunity to experience real-life projects with hands-on participation in Oxy’s core businesses. Your summer project will be designed to add value to our operations while providing an opportunity to observe your skills and competencies in action. Oxy interns are paired with a manager and mentor in order to provide technical guidance throughout the project timeline. In addition to attending training and development courses, lunch and learns, field trips, and social activities, interns will be given the chance to meet with Oxy executives and leadership throughout the internship.

Final position can be but not limited to Production Engineer, Facilities Engineer, Reservoir Engineer, Drilling and Completions Engineer and Operations Engineer.

Qualifications

• Pursuing a degree in Engineering
• Maintain minimum cumulative 2.85 GPA on a 4.0 scale
• Must have a graduation date of December 2027 - May 2029
• Desire to pursue career in Oil and Gas
