Job summary

Stfrancis is seeking a candidate in Kansas for a hands-on plant role focused on engineering, maintenance, tooling, and troubleshooting. You will help reduce waste and costs while advancing Lean practices and providing reliable technical support to the plant and organization.

The ideal candidate is pursuing a BS in Engineering (Mechanical/Industrial/Manufacturing) with project management exposure, strong communication, and a willingness to gain experience in Lean/Six Sigma and coding.

Qualifications

• Pursuing a Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Industrial, Plastics, Manufacturing, or equivalent).
• Project management experience, including familiarity with project management tools and software.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to summarize and communicate information clearly.
• Preferred experience in Lean Manufacturing and/or Six Sigma.
• Preferred experience with coding and programming.
• Preferred experience with hand and power tools.

Responsibilities

• Lead or support technical work and activities within the plant, including engineering, maintenance, tooling, and troubleshooting.
• Maintain an in-depth understanding of plant infrastructure, systems, and equipment.
• Consistently reduce operational waste and costs.
• Exercise and advance Lean Manufacturing practices.
• Provide reliable technical support to the local plant and the organization.
• Perform in-depth analyses to understand system gaps and issues.
• Maintain updated and accurate plant layouts, floor plans, system schematics, and specifications.
