Job summary

Carrier Global Corporation's Advanced Materials Engineering group in Syracuse is offering a part-time Engineering Intern Jumpstart for Fall 2026. The role provides practical, meaningful on-the-job experience applying material science, metrology, and data analysis.

The intern will support analyses, testing, and development activities across HVAC technologies, with approximately 10 hours per week, and opportunity to collaborate with engineers and cross-functional teams.

Qualifications

  • Pursuing a bachelor’s degree or higher in Chemical, Materials, or any Engineering field.
  • GPA of 3.0 or higher.
  • Must be eligible to work in the US without sponsorship.

Responsibilities

  • Assist with engineering analyses, data reduction, and technical evaluations related to HVAC components and development projects.
  • Support laboratory testing, test setup, instrumentation, data collection, and documentation of results.
  • Help develop and improve analytical tools, models, calculations, and workflows using engineering software and spreadsheets.
  • Contribute to development activities involving components, materials, refrigerant systems, controls, and operational data to improve performance.
  • Support digital operations, including data organization, dashboard development, and analysis of lab data.
  • Collaborate with engineers, lab personnel, and cross-functional teams to complete tasks and communicate findings.

Education

Bachelor's degree or higher in Chemical, Materials or any Engineering field
