Job summary

Corning Inc. in Virginia is offering a 10-week technical internship where you will apply fundamental scientific methods and rigorous analysis to improve processes and design capabilities in a lab, pilot, or manufacturing environment.

You will generate hypotheses, conduct experiments, analyze data, and report results to the team and leadership, while developing hands-on skills and collaborative experience for future opportunities at Corning.

Qualifications

• Pursuing or completing a technical degree.
• Laboratory experience – college lab courses acceptable.
• Ability to collaborate with peers and integrate solutions.
• Self-starter and results-oriented.
• Flexibility - Able to change and adjust smoothly as the situation demands.
• Must be available for 10 weeks during Summer 2027 (May-August 2027) with a graduation date of December 2027 or later.
• Be interested in working for Corning, Inc after graduation, if presented with a full-time job opportunity.
• Be willing to work at the posted job location.

Responsibilities

• Generating hypothesis, design and execution of experiments to facilitate fundamental understanding.
• Analysis of data and generating reports for sharing with team members and leaders.
• Hands on lab, pilot or manufacturing environment work.
• Communicate project status to supervisor, project team and leaders, via memos, reports or presentations.
