Job summary

Union Pacific Corporation is seeking motivated Engineering interns to support field operations and projects across track, signal, or bridge maintenance. You will shadow managers, participate in hands-on assignments, and gain exposure to infrastructure maintenance within a large transportation network.

Interns work full-time during the summer, may travel, and have travel and lodging covered. You will develop data analysis, problem-solving, and project-management skills in a dynamic environment.

Qualifications

• College credits equivalent to one year toward an undergraduate degree.
• Valid driver's license.
• Intermediate verbal and written communication skills.
• Intermediate organization, prioritization and time management skills.

Responsibilities

• Learn core business processes and systems within department operations.
• Shadow field managers to observe and learn field operations.
• Support process improvement initiatives within track, bridge, or signal operations.
• Leverage data analysis to support project outcomes and identify opportunities for continuous improvement.
• Collaborate with field employees and department leaders to implement solutions.
• Build and strengthen a network of professional contacts across the company.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
