Job summary

Parker Hannifin in Elyria, OH, is seeking an Engineering Intern to support the Motion Systems Group and Hydraulic Valve Systems Division. This on-site position begins January 2027 with potential to continue.

You will assist engineers by producing CAD drawings (2D/3D), creating ECNs, archiving files, and applying manufacturing standards. The role offers hands-on experience in a global motion and control technologies leader.

Qualifications

• Pursuing a bachelor’s degree in engineering.
• Ability to use current versions of 2D, 3D, Windows and MS Office software.
• Familiar with dimensioning concepts of print‑to‑scale, model spacing, and paper spacing.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced, schedule-driven, team environment.
• Ability to read and interpret documents such as work instructions, safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions.

Responsibilities

• Produce detailed CAD drawings from specifications and drawings.
• Create drawing numbers and Engineering Change Notices (ECN).
• Archive and file drawings; revise drawings per instructions; create final production drawings.
• Create electronic versions of older drawings and bring to current standards.
• Layout and draw standard 2D/3D and isometric views showing functional relationships.
• Create bills of materials and required notes on drawings.
• Find related reference documents and information on products and standards.

We have an exciting opening for an Engineering Intern in Elyria, Ohio. This is an on-site opportunity starting in January 2027 with potential to continue.

Your Main Responsibilities

• Use specifications, sketches, drawings, and related data to produce detailed Computer Assisted Drafting (CAD) drawings while following instructions from project coordination and other drafters.
• With supervision, create drawing numbers and Engineering Change Notices (ECN), as needed.
• Follow instructions to correctly archive and file drawings; electronically save all drawings; revise drawings per customer and project coordination instructions; and create serial production quality final drawings.
• Create electronic versions of older drawings and bring them up to current standards.
• With supervision, layout and draw standard 2D/3D and isometric views which depict functional relationships of components.
• Create bills of material and required notes on drawings.
• With guidance, find related reference documents and drawings prepared by others.
• With guidance, find information on HVS Division products by using legacy and active files.
• With guidance, find information on manufacturing standards and tolerances such as ASME, ISO, ANSI, ASTM, OSHA, etc., and apply them to daily activities.

We Are Looking For Talent With

• Pursuing a bachelor’s degree in engineering discipline.
• Ability to use the HVS Division’s current versions of 2D, 3D, Windows and MS Office software.
• Familiar with the dimensioning concepts of print-to-scale, model spacing, and paper spacing.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced, schedule-driven, team environment.
• Ability to read and interpret documents such as work instructions, safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
• Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
• Ability to read standard tape measure.
• Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where limited standardization exists.
• Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
