Job summary

Shape offers Engineering Intern/Co-op openings for Summer 2027. The program provides hands-on experience across multiple disciplines in a dynamic manufacturing environment, with exposure to real-world projects and cross-functional collaboration.

As an intern you will design tools and fixtures, support production troubleshooting, create operator instructions, and learn Shape’s development processes including SPMP, enterProj, Plex, Smartsheet, GD&T, and Teamcenter.

Qualifications

• Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Engineering Technology, or a related technical field from an accredited program
• Minimum 3.0 GPA on a 4.0 scale
• Strong communication, problem-solving, and analytical skills
• Comfortable working independently and in collaborative teams

Program Overview

Our student engineering program offers hands-on experience across multiple disciplines in a dynamic manufacturing environment. Interns and co-ops gain exposure to real-world projects, technical challenges, and cross-functional collaboration—building a strong foundation for future careers.

Internship Tracks

Manufacturing Engineering Interns

• Designtools and fixturesusing AutoCAD or SolidWorks
• Supportcontinuous improvementandproduction troubleshooting
• Create and reviseoperator instructions
• Assist withasset management,safety audits, andplant layout planning
• Gain exposure toShape’s Product Development processes, including SPMP, enterProj, Plex, and Smartsheet systems
• Learn the fundamentals ofGeometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing (GD&T)and drawing development
• Work withTeamcenterandVisMockUpto manage and visualize product data
• Assist in the creation and review of key engineering documents such asDFMEA,DVP&R, and technical drawings
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support product design and process development initiatives
