Job summary

igus Inc. in Rhode Island is seeking an Engineering Intern to support data management, CAD documentation, and product lifecycle tasks.

You will work with experienced engineers in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. The ideal candidate is pursuing a bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Manufacturing, Industrial Engineering or Engineering Technology with strong organizational skills and attention to detail, and an interest in documentation and product development.

Qualifications

• Pursuing a bachelor’s degree in a technical discipline (engineering or related).
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills are required.
• Ability to manage multiple tasks and work independently.
• Proficiency with Excel and MS Office.
• Clear written and verbal communication; ability to read engineering docs.

Responsibilities

• Support engineering data migration projects between legacy and current systems.
• Review, organize, validate, and transfer drawings, part files, and related docs.
• Help identify discrepancies in engineering databases and document repositories.
• Collaborate with engineering and operations to verify migrated information.
• Update drawings and documentation using CAD software.
• Revise drawings for ECRs and ECOs.
• Verify BOMs, revisions, and drawing accuracy.
• Support product development and continuous improvement projects.
• Maintain bills of materials and part master data.
• Participate in cross-functional meetings and project reviews.
