Job summary

Curtiss-Wright Surface Technologies CWST in Charlotte, NC, seeks an Engineering Intern to assist on shot peening process optimization, including design and execution. You will operate a 3D printer, fabricate tooling and create SolidWorks models and drawings.

The role targets a Mechanical Engineering student with a 3.0+ GPA and CAD/CAM experience, including SolidWorks and Cura, with potential travel to facilities for on-site work.

Qualifications

• Mechanical Engineering student with 3.0+ GPA.
• CAD modeling experience; SolidWorks preferred.
• 3D printing experience; Cura familiarity.
• Manual lathe/vertical mill experience a plus.
• Design & build experience on robot or personal projects.

Responsibilities

• Operate and maintain a 3D printer.
• Design and fabricate custom tooling using conventional methods and 3D printing.
• Identify opportunities for masking/general improvements.
• Identify opportunities for masking/general improvements
• Create SolidWorks models, assemblies and drawings.
• Support machine improvements, troubleshooting and repairs.
• Research and procure materials from vendors.
• Potentially travel to facilities for on-site work.
