TYLin in Rochester, NY is seeking a Buildings Engineering Intern for Summer 2027. You will gain hands-on experience on structural design and drawings for commercial, institutional, and residential projects.

As part of the project team, you will assist with field reviews, learn engineering plans and details, and perform computer modeling and hand calculations under guidance from senior staff. This internship offers valuable exposure and mentorship.

Qualificações

• Currently enrolled as a 3rd year undergrad or graduate student in Civil/Architectural Engineering (structures).
• Steel and concrete design classes are preferred if completed.
• Proficiency with MS Word, Excel and engineering software is expected.
• REVIT Structure familiarity is beneficial.

Job Summary

TYLin is looking for an intern to join our Rochester, NY office for the Summer of 2027. As a Buildings Engineering Intern, you'll gain the opportunity to immerse yourself in diverse projects. Our structural engineering services for vertical structures include new construction projects, renovation, adaptive reuse, and historic preservation. Responsibilities & Qualifications

What You Will Do

• Work with the project team to assist in preparing structural design and drawings for buildings (commercial, institutional, residential, etc.) from conceptual and preliminary stages of design through construction

• Perform field review for projects under construction and/or visit existing buildings to document existing conditions

• Become familiar with engineering plans and details

• Assist with computer modeling & hand calculations

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, capable of producing clear documentation and interacting professionally with clients and colleagues

Your Education and Experience

• Requires current 3rd year standing as an undergraduate, or a Graduate student standing, in an accredited Civil Engineering program or Architectural Engineering program (with a focus on structures)

• Completion of steel and concrete design classes preferred, completion of at least one of these classes required.

• Experience with MS Word, Excel and engineering software

• Familiarity with REVIT Structure beneficial

• Co‑op/Internship experience related to commercial, institutional, or residential buildings would be considered an asset.
