About the Role:

The City of Peoria's Development and Engineering Department/Engineering Services Division seeks an Engineering Inspector to serve as a liaison between contractors, developers, utility companies, and City departments. This role involves journey-level work inspecting development projects, construction of City infrastructure, and utilities, ensuring compliance with plans, specifications, and regulations.

Ideal Candidate Attributes:

• Excellent customer service, communication, and interpersonal skills.
• Experience in civil inspections, construction monitoring, and acceptance testing.
• Knowledge of traffic control, stormwater pollution inspection, and field-testing of soils, concrete, and asphalt.
• Experience in municipal or government settings.

Additional Notes:

This is a Fixed-Term (Contract) position eligible for benefits.

Other Requirements

Minimum Requirements:

• High school diploma plus coursework equivalent to up to 1 year at a community college.

Experience:

• 2-4 years of relevant experience, preferably in similar roles.

Physical Demands:

• Heavy physical exertion, lifting 25-50 pounds.

Licenses and Certifications:

• Valid Arizona Class "D" Driver's License upon hire.
