Through a human-centered design process, we create vehicles and experiences that are designed not just to be seen, but to be felt. We’re turning today’s impossible into tomorrow’s standard —from breakthrough hardware and battery systems to intuitive design, intelligent software, and next‑generation safety and entertainment features. Every day, our products move millions of people as we aim to make driving safer, smarter and more connected, shaping the future of transportation on a global scale.

Company Vehicle

Note: program participants are required to purchase/lease a qualifying GM vehicle every four years unless one of a limited number of exceptions applies.

The Role

  • Partner with cross‑functional corporate process owners to drive process commonality, standardization, and efficiency.
  • Lead a team of approximately 15–20 process owners and SMEs within the Engineering Process CoE, Strategy and Governance team in the Global Engineering Operations and Specifications organization.
  • Identify, prioritize, and execute efficiency opportunities within current business processes to reduce proliferation of unique and bespoke tool solutions.
  • Remove roadblocks, anticipate potential issues, and escal ate quickly as needed, developing creative solutions that enable the business to operate effectively.
  • Conduct regular team meetings and communicate GM policies, procedures, leadership messages, and safety messages.
  • Assign and manage workload for direct reports, reviewing and approving work-related data and deliverables.
  • Provide training, mentoring, coaching, and constructive feedback to support the development and growth of team members.
  • Partner with staff to develop annual performance goals aligned to corporate Key Strategic Initiatives.
  • Identify and develop plans for succession for staff, including leading robust interviewing and ensuring seamless onboarding for new hires.
  • Manage cultural diversity within the team and support collaboration with global partners and program activity.
  • Formally and informally recognize employee contributions and provide timely, consistent feedback.
  • Participate in compensation planning and deliver compensation decisions as supported by leadership.
  • Ensure employees complete all mandatory GM training as well as any role‑specific or functional training.
Your Skills and Abilities (Required Qualifications)
  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Business, IT, Engineering Technology or a related discipline.
  • 8 years of experience with process optimization tools and methodologies (for example, Lean Principles, Kaizen Continuous Improvement, Business Process Improvement/Management, Value Stream Mapping, Root Cause Analysis).
  • Highly developed oral and written communication skills with the ability to communicate effectively at all levels of the organization.
  • Proven high level of analytical ability to address unusual, difficult, or complex problems.
  • Demonstrated capability to lead strong, high‑performing teams to successful outcomes; experience as a people leader is preferred.
  • Experience working on and leading global teams with the capability to drive change across regions.
