The Engineering Garage Assistant supports the development of standardized repair timelines by accurately documenting each step of the automotive service process during time‑and‑motion studies. You will work closely with lead technicians to record procedural data, track tool usage, and ensure all investigative steps are captured for comprehensive labor time establishing. This role requires a blend of mechanical interest and administrative precision to ensure that final labor guides reflect realistic, efficient, and high‑quality service standards. Additionally, the Engineering Garage Assistant will ensure that the shop remains clean and well organized and preps vehicles for delivery back to field service.

We are seeking a motivated enthusiast/apprentice automotive technician who possesses foundational mechanical skills and a strong, proactive desire to expand their expertise in professional automotive service and repair.

The wage range for this role takes into account the wide range of factors that are considered in making compensation decisions including but not limited to skill sets; experience and training; and other business and organizational needs. The disclosed range estimate may not have been adjusted for the applicable geographic differential associated with the location at which the position may be filled. At MSXi, it is not typical for an individual to be hired at the top of the range for their role and compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case. A reasonable estimate of the current range is $20 to $24 hourly.
