Intertek USA is seeking an Engineering Field Technician I for Dupont, WA to join our Building & Construction team. You will perform testing, site observations, and data reporting as part of our quality assurance services for construction projects.

The role requires travel up to 25%, lifting 30–50 lbs, and working outdoors in various weather conditions. A HS diploma and valid driver’s license are required; certifications like ACI/ICC WAQTC are preferred.

The Engineering Field Technician I is responsible for performing a variety of testing, project specific observations and site assessment duties under general supervision and/or from detailed controlled procedures

Salary & Benefits Information

The base wage or salary range for this position is $28-$35 per hour. Individual compensation packages are based on a variety of factors unique to each candidate including skill set, experience, qualifications, and other job-related reasons.

What you’ll do:

• Operate testing equipment and conduct testing (example: Soil, concrete or other) and provide assessment of data through reporting
• Utilize drawings, specifications, and diagrams
• Use specific methods and perform tasks to make detailed observations of site activities and give limited interpretation of results
• Maintain detailed documentation and data from test results

Minimum Requirements & Qualifications:

• Some experience in the construction industry or related fields
• Valid driver's license and reliable driving record
• Must be able to work off shift and overtime as needed
• Ability to travel up to 25% of the time
• Ability to lift, move, push and pull 30 to 50 pounds frequently; Occasionally, over 50 pounds with assistance
• Ability to receive detailed information through oral communication, (hearing) and to make the discriminations in sound
• Ability to kneel and squat occasionally
• Ability to walk and stand for long periods of time
• Ability to work outdoors in adverse weather conditions, including hot and cold temperatures
• Ability to climb occasionally, and work at various heights

Preferred Requirements & Qualifications:

• High School Diploma or equivalent
• Previous construction materials testing experience
• Certifications including ACI, ICC, WAQTC, etc.
