Job summary

Georgetown University is seeking a Director of Engineering Services to lead the Office of Engineering and Utilities. You will guide a diverse engineering team, ensure safe operation of building systems, and manage fire protection services across campuses.

Responsibilities include project review, budget allocation, and collaboration with internal partners. Candidates should have strong leadership, industry knowledge, and a track record in complex facilities programs.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering from an accredited program.
• Minimum 7 years of progressive experience in engineering, construction, facilities management, or a related field.
• Minimum 3 years of team management.
• Professional knowledge of building codes, standards, and related guidance.
• Familiar with CADD, CMMS, and project management software.
• Strong budget management skills.
• Experience with electrical, mechanical, building automation, and fire protection systems.

Responsibilities

• Direct a team of engineers to execute and/or review designs and studies.
• Direct the Fire Protection Manager in inspection, testing, maintenance, and modifications of fire/life safety equipment.
• Lead cross-functional teams to solve complex facilities-related issues.
• Implement systems and processes to improve efficiency, reduce risk and costs, and prevent issues.
• Contribute to alignment and development of projects across deferred maintenance, energy/utilities, housing, and capital improvements.
