Job summary

U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service (USFWS) in North Dakota seeks an Engineering Equipment Operator to haul, operate heavy machinery, and support road and earthwork projects according to plans.

The role requires routine maintenance, strict safety adherence, and the ability to interpret technical drawings while working outdoors in challenging conditions. Ideal candidates will hold a Class A CDL, pass background checks and E-Verify as applicable, and demonstrate physical stamina for demanding fieldwork

Qualifications

• Experience operating heavy construction equipment and trucks.
• Ability to interpret plans for roads and earthwork.
• Ability to perform basic building maintenance and repairs.
• Must pass background checks and E-Verify as applicable.

Responsibilities

• Drive and operate semi-trucks and trailers to haul equipment to project sites.
• Operate road graders, bulldozers, backhoes, loaders, excavators, and other heavy machinery.
• Perform daily maintenance checks, minor repairs, and coordinate major repairs as needed.
• Interpret plans and profiles for roads, buildings, and earthwork to ensure work matches specifications.
• Perform basic building maintenance, including electrical components and lighting tasks.
