Job summary

PrideStaff is seeking an Engineering Drafter – Specialty Construction in Deer Park, NY. You will produce detailed shop drawings, interpret plans, and collaborate with PMs, engineers, fabricators, and installers to support specialty construction projects.

The role requires strong AutoCAD proficiency (2D), solid math and measurement abilities, and careful attention to tolerances and fabrication processes. On-site work with direct hire benefits.

Qualifications

• Experience drafting for specialty construction (stone, millwork, metal & glass, façade systems, or similar).
• Strong proficiency in AutoCAD (2D); 3D is a plus.
• Ability to understand engineering concepts, tolerances, and fabrication processes.
• Experience preparing shop drawings for custom architectural elements.
• Strong math and measurement skills.
• Ability to work closely with PMs, fabricators, and field teams.
• Detail-oriented with strong problem solving abilities.

Responsibilities

• Produced detailed shop drawings, fabrication drawings, and installation drawings.
• Interpret architectural plans, specifications, and field measurements.
• Collaborate with project managers, engineers, fabricators, and installers.
• Prepare cut tickets, material takeoffs, and technical documentation.
• Ensure drawings meet project requirements, tolerances, and specialty material standards.
• Revise drawings based on RFIs, site conditions, and client changes.
• Support engineering problem solving related to fit, structure, and constructability.
• Maintain drawing accuracy and version control throughout the project lifecycle.

Schedule: On-site, Mon‑Fri

Salary: $40–50 per hour, depending on experience, with flexibility for the right candidate

Type: Direct Hire with benefits

Compensation / Pay Rate (Up to): $40.00 - $50.00
