Job summary

Google seeks an Engineering Director for Geo Imagery to own the end-to-end platform that captures, processes, and serves geospatial imagery from Street View cars to satellites. The role drives core perception systems to deliver immersive 3D maps and supports Gemini AI training needs across Mountain View, CA and Boulder, CO.

You will manage a specialized engineering org spanning perception, hardware, data processing, and photoreal modeling.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, or similar field, or equivalent practical experience.
• 15 years of software engineering leadership experience focusing on product/platform development.
• Experience in Machine Learning/Computer Vision, real-time data pipelines, 3D graphics or hardware/sensor platforms.

Responsibilities

• Own ML and computer vision tech processing sensor data to identify real-world features and improve Maps freshness with AI-based inference.
• Lead hardware and software innovation for imagery acquisition engines (Street View vehicles, drones, aerial survey planes).
• Direct exa-scale data pipelines from ingestion to publishing for Maps, Earth, and Platform.
