Job summary

Canonical is hiring an Engineering Director, Devices Software Engineering to drive strategy and implementation for Ubuntu hardware enablement quality across PC, server, and IoT hardware. You will lead teams across time zones, set quality goals, and partner with OEMs and engineering leaders to maintain certification standards.

You will mentor managers and engineers, shape testing processes, and oversee energy measurement initiatives while aligning roadmaps with Canonical's open source mission.

Qualifications

• Strong Linux-based software engineering background, preferably with low-level embedded experience.
• Proven leadership of software teams and managers across multiple projects and time zones.
• Experience with quality assurance, testing strategies and certification processes.

Responsibilities

• Lead hardware enablement quality assurance and testing for Ubuntu stacks.
• Manage and mentor multiple software engineering teams and engineering managers.
• Drive strategy, planning, and execution for device certification and energy measurement initiatives.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams and OEMs to improve quality and delivery.
