Job summary

Paycom - ATS seeks a Designer to assist in creating product drawings/models and BOMs in SolidWorks for commercial and production needs. You will update drawings per engineering standards, perform design calculations, and contribute to engineering change processes under the Director of Engineering.

The role requires proficiency in SolidWorks (2D/3D), strong math skills, and teamwork. GD&T knowledge and weld call outs are a plus.

Qualifications

• Proficient 2D drawing and 3D modeling ability through use of SolidWorks.
• Prior work experience with SolidWorks required.
• Strong communication skills to organize problem solving reflected in designs.
• Mechanical design knowledge is essential.
• Preferred SolidWorks certification and 3–5 years related experience.
• Knowledge of GD&T and weld call outs is a plus.
• Proficient in MS Office including Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
• Strong math skills and attention to detail.

Responsibilities

• Create new product drawings/models and complete necessary calculations.
• Create and/or update product drawings and calculations for modifications.
• Generate and track Engineering Change Requests and New Product Requests with research for required changes.
• Apply basic engineering principles in the design of new or modified products.
• Review regulatory artwork for production and manufacturing.
• Apply standards to design work completed.

THE ROLEThe Designer will assist in the design and creation of product models, assemblies, Bills of Materials (BOMs) and drawings in SolidWorks for commercial and production facility needs under direction of engineers and the Director of Engineering. The Design Engineer will maintain product drawings by processing all necessary changes and create drawings per engineering standards.
