Job Description

WHO WE ARE

Led by the Chief Information Security Officer (CISO), Technology Risk secures Goldman Sachs against hackers and other cyber threats. We are responsible for detecting and preventing attempted cyber intrusions against the firm, helping the firm develop more secure applications and infrastructure, developing software in support of our efforts, measuring cybersecurity risk, and designing and driving implementation of cybersecurity controls. The team has global presence across the Americas, APAC, India and EMEA.

Within Technology Risk, the Strategic Execution and Portfolio Management & Chief Operating Office leads the development and execution of strategic initiatives in support of the information security and cyber security program including change management, process improvement and managing audit commitments across Engineering. In addition, the team is responsible for building and scaling business operations to support a rapidly growing workforce overseeing talent management, project management office financial planning, vendor management, workforce strategy, communication and workplace experience.

You'll partner closely with Technology Risk senior leadership to lead solutions for complex organizational and business challenges in support of the information security and cyber security program with its rapidly changing environment internally and externally. You will enjoy a role that advances our strategy and accelerates technology transformation while reducing risk for the firm.

HOW YOU WILL FULFILL YOUR POTENTIAL

You will lead a new team created to transform and optimize the overall Technology Risk function to drive increased effectiveness and efficiency of the information security and cyber security program. We partner with the Technology Risk and Engineering leadership to articulate clear, measurable goals and align the transformation activities with the divisional strategic objectives and regulatory drivers. We engage with the broader Engineering organization to accelerate the delivery pace, advance the forward-looking vision, and create sustainable, future-proof solutions.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

  1. 3+ years of professional experience in a Technical Project Management or Program Management function, preferably within the financial services or technology industry
  2. Experience with driving execution for technology process improvement including transformation levers such as Target Operating Model (TOM), control framework, process engineering, automation and location strategy
  3. Ability to communicate with impact and tailor messaging to diverse stakeholder groups including engineering and product teams, end users, management, and executive-level leadership
  4. Ability to cultivate long-term relationships and consensus across stakeholders
  5. Exceptional time management and prioritization skills, with a proven track record of coordinating concurrent activities with multiple interdependencies across several teams
  6. Ability to demonstrate leadership, problem solving, and critical thinking skills when under pressure
  7. Ability to understand software engineering fundamentals, identify risks, assess mitigating controls, and make recommendations on improving the control environment
  8. Excellent communication skills, both written and oral
  9. Intellectually curious mindset and motivation to identify creative, innovative solutions
  10. Prior experience working within an engineering or cybersecurity environment preferred
  11. Prior experience in a risk, compliance, regulatory, or information technology/security adjacent role

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  1. Advanced degree in Business, Computer Engineering/Science, or a related field
  2. Knowledge of risk management methodologies and frameworks
  3. Audit, compliance, quality assurance, control, or management consulting related experience a plus
  4. Data analysis and visualization experience is preferred including experience in Excel and other tool sets
