Job summary

Astec in Texas is seeking an Engineering Coordinator to support Engineering, Planning, Purchasing and Production teams. You will generate and assign new engineering items, maintain BOMs and routings in JDE, and support document management with drawing links.

The role requires reading blueprints, strong Excel skills, and clear communication. You will work in an office environment with occasional shop exposure, contributing to on-time product delivery and continuous improvement.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Ability to read and interpret drawings and blueprints.
• Excellent written and oral communication skills.
• Proficient with MS Word and Excel; data entry capability.

Responsibilities

• Generate and assign new engineering items and process them through JDE.
• Generate and maintain BOMs and routings in JDE with engineering support.
• Update item notes and drawing links in JDE.
• Print work orders and attach drawings for release with planning support.
• Transfer component allocations between work orders with planning assistance.
• Obtain and distribute equipment manuals/data for engineered products to internal and external customers.

About The Position

The Engineering Coordinator is responsible for various tasks to support Engineering, Planning, Purchasing, and Production personnel.

Key Activities & Responsibilities

• Generate and assign new engineering items, and process new items through JDE
• Generate and maintain BOMs and Routings in JDE with engineering support
• Update and maintain item notes and drawing links in JDE
• Print WOs and attach drawings for subsequent release with planning support
• Transfer component allocations between WOs with planning support
• Obtain and develop equipment manuals/data for engineered products, and distribute them to internal and external customers

To be successful in this role, your experience and competencies are:

• JDE ERP experience required
• High school degree or equivalent required
• Ability to read and interpret drawing and blueprints
• Knowledge of computers, primarily Word and Excel required.
• Excellent communication skills, both written and oral, and ability to use these skills effectively throughout the organization and with all levels of employees required.
• Must be able to work on data entry unassisted.
• Ability to effectively work as a member of a team required.
