Job summary

A leading engineering firm in Shakopee is seeking an Engineering Configuration Specialist to manage and maintain engineering documents and data within their ERP system. The ideal candidate should have a high school diploma and at least 2 years of configuration management experience. Strong attention to detail and communication skills are critical. This role entails managing bills of materials, documenting processes, and redesigning the Engineering Handbook.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • 2 years of configuration management experience preferred.
  • Knowledge of ANSI/EIA-649-B CM standard is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Manage and maintain engineering documents and data within the KEB ERP system.
  • Acquire and catalog electronic documents.
  • Design and maintain Engineering processes.

Skills

Intermediate to advanced level of computer skills
Ability to communicate clearly and effectively (written and verbal)
Attention to detail
Basic SAP (or similar ERP) knowledge

Education

Job description

The engineering configuration specialist is responsible for managing and maintaining engineering documents and data within the KEB ERP system. This position will require an individual with attention to detail with accuracy and organizational skills. This role requires self-motivation to look at possible solutions and improvements in the configuration management process. Completion of change management while working with engineering team members. This role will design and main engineering processes for the department. This position will help to develop, contribute, and maintain the Engineering Handbook. The employee will be involved in the updates of the status of materials.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.

  • Acquisition and cataloging of electronic documents
  • Manage and maintain bills of materials
  • Create and manage new materials in ERP systems
  • Manage and maintain “Material Status”
  • Define, analyze, and implement change (change management)
  • Design, revises, and maintains the Engineering Handbook
  • Designs and maintains the Engineering Processes
  • Maintain organization of technical information including Engineering Tasks and Notification lists.
  • Follow safety rules and keep clean/orderly work area
  • Perform other duties as required or assigned

Education / Experience
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • 2 years configuration management experience
