Job summary

Systems Intelligence, an Akima company, in Austin is seeking an experienced engineer to join the Army Software Factory. You will embed within cross-functional teams to deliver cloud-native applications and coach Soldiers who build software.

You will pair daily with engineers, champion XP, TDD, and DevSecOps, guiding architecture and hands-on delivery using Spring Boot, React, and TypeScript.

Qualifications

• 3 years of experience as Software Engineer.
• Proficiency in modern object-oriented coding languages and frameworks (i.e., Java, TypeScript, C++, Spring Boot, React, etc.).
• Ability to coach and train junior software developers.
• Fluent in test driven development, lean methodology, and DevSecOps.
• Knowledge of Java, C#, Spring Boot, PHP, Typescript/JavaScript, NodeJs, Python, Kotlin, and ability to learn programming language or data structures and logic to transform and visualize data as needed.
• MUST have REAL ID.

Responsibilities

• Pair Daily: write production code side-by-side with Soldiers.
• Cultivate XP practices including TDD, continuous refactoring, and pair programming.
• Collaborate with Product Managers, Product Designers, and Platform Engineers.
• Architect scalable systems using modern frameworks (Spring Boot, React, TypeScript).
• Accelerate independence of Soldiers to lead teams and continue building solutions.
