Qualifications

  • Currently enrolled in an accredited Engineering program.
  • Junior standing or higher (will discuss possible earlier start with experience).
  • Pursuing a degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Manufacturing, Materials, Chemical or related Engineering field.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

  • Supporting engineering projects from concept through implementation.
  • Assisting with product and process design improvements.
  • Conducting testing, data collection, and analysis.
  • Creating and updating engineering documentation, drawings, and specifications.
  • Participating in continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Collaborating with cross-functional teams to solve technical challenges.
  • Assisting with quality investigations and corrective actions.
  • Presenting project updates and recommendations to engineering and operations team.

This position provides hands-on experience working alongside skilled and highly educated engineers on meaningful projects that support our research teams, as well as product development, manufacturing, and any other areas of the company in need of support.

Work Schedule

This co-op position requires completion of three working terms. While students may complete two consecutive terms, only one back to back term is allowed during their co-op experience. The program is not designed for Summer-only participation. To meet program requirements, students must complete at least one Spring or Fall term in addition to any Summer term(s).

Responsibilities

Assignments will be based on business needs, educational background, individual skills, and areas of interest. The disciplines we support include Water Chemistry, Biological Testing, Materials Science, Electronics and Sensors, and Thermal Mechanical. Responsibilities may include:

  • Supporting engineering projects from concept through implementation
  • Assisting with product and process design improvements
  • Conducting testing, data collection, and analysis
  • Creating and updating engineering documentation, drawings, and specifications
  • Participating in continuous improvement initiatives
  • Supporting manufacturing process optimization efforts
  • Collaborating with cross-functional teams to solve technical challenges
  • Assisting with quality investigations and corrective actions
  • Analyzing production and quality data to identify improvement opportunities
  • Presenting project updates and recommendations to engineering and operations team
Qualifications
  • Currently enrolled in an accredited Engineering program
  • Junior standing or higher (will discuss possible earlier start with experience)
  • Pursuing a degree in:
    • Mechanical Engineering
    • Electrical Engineering
    • Manufacturing Engineering
    • Materials Engineering
    • Chemical or biological sciences
    • Or a related Engineering field
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
  • A desire to seek new information
  • Experience with data analysis, reporting, or statistical tools
