Job summary

The TECO Energy Cooperative Education Program offers college degree-seeking students the opportunity for professional growth while meeting the business needs of the company. The co-op program provides practical experience to complement formal classroom work and will place engineering students at Big Bend Power Station in Apollo Beach, FL, with on-site and field assignments.

Interns operate under the supervision of Energy Supply engineers, engaging in projects of varying complexity and duration,

Qualifications

• Must be enrolled in a university co-op program or approved internship.
• Enrolled as undergraduate (junior or senior) for first semester in program.
• Interest in energy/power industry and design experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Review and analyze required codes, standards, and regulations to support design efforts.
• Review engineering documents, including, but not limited to design drawings, reports, and specifications.
• Perform walkdowns and field engineering activities to support design and construction efforts.
• Monitor on-going construction activities to verify conformance with design drawings.
