Job summary

Renaissance Infrastructure Consulting (RIC) in Kansas City, KS is seeking a CAD Technician to support engineers with plan production and drafting for infrastructure projects. Proficiency in AutoCAD Civil 3D and/or Bentley PowerGeopak, plus strong organization and teamwork, are essential to deliver accurate drawings on tight deadlines.

You will prepare dimensional and installation drawings, collaborate with project leaders, and help generate quantities from plans.

Qualifications

• Associate degree or higher in civil drafting preferred.
• In lieu of degree, minimum 3 years CAD experience.
• Experience preparing civil engineering drawings.
• Proficient in AutoCAD Civil 3D and Bentley PowerGeopak.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office.

Responsibilities

• Utilize AutoCAD Civil 3D and/or Bentley PowerGeopak in plan production.
• Communicate with project leaders through all project phases and meet deadlines.

About the Role

RIC is seeking a CAD Technician for the role of assisting engineers with designing and drafting activities, including preparing, updating, and assembling plan sets, and other civil engineering related tasks for a range of project types. An ideal candidate will have a good working knowledge of AutoCAD Civil 3D and/or MicroStation. Candidates should have a strong sense of responsibility and organization. Primary Responsibilities

• Utilize AutoCAD Civil 3D and/or Bentley PowerGeopak in plan production.
• Communicate with the project leaders through all phases of project completion and meet deadlines.
• Prepare dimensional drawings and installation drawings for plan sets and application submittal documents.
• Develop, design, and modify engineering drawings for infrastructure, roadway, and site development projects.
• Regularly communicate and collaborate with the project managers before, during, and after completion of work
• Generate quantities and estimates from plan sets.

Requirements

• Work effectively and professionally with internal team members and external client personnel
• Experience with preparing civil engineering drawings.
• Intermediate to Advanced experience in AutoCAD Civil 3D and/or Bentley PowerGeopak
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite software
• Organized and punctual
• Ability to communicate effectively with multiple teams.
• Ability to prioritize project deadlines.
• Ability to multitask, thrive in a fast-paced work environment, and prioritize project deadlines.
• Detail-oriented, self-motivated, and ability to work with limited supervision.
• Experience in engineering environment or engineering and/or technical coursework
• Basic knowledge of local civil engineering design criteria
• Ability to remain in a stationary position approximately 90% of the day.

Education Requirements

• An associate degree or higher in a civil drafting related curriculum preferred.
• In lieu of an associate degree a minimum of 3 year’s CAD experience
