Job description

This position is responsible for providing assistance in engineering operations, including maintenance, repair of hotel property, outside grounds, hotel equipment, preventative maintenance, and asset protection. Follows CSM high standards of quality to ensure guest satisfaction.

Responsibilities:

1. Learn and demonstrate the ability to maintain property assets.
2. Work with the Chief Engineer to understand preventive maintenance, equipment repairs, routine inspections, and capital expenditures.
3. Learn the impact of maintaining company assets and how it impacts the overall financial success of the hotel property.
4. Assist and respond to guest requests in a friendly and positive manner, while providing the highest level of service.
5. Have knowledge of hotel property, guest room repairs, and common area maintenance to assist guests.
6. Set a strong example for other associates through exceptional guest service.
7. Assess and evaluate property assets through preventative maintenance.
8. Work with appropriate managers in a respectful and courageous manner to recommend maintenance service solutions.
9. Work with the Chief Engineer to learn, understand, and execute on all engineering SOPs.
10. Work as a team player in meeting guest needs and actively contribute to the efforts of other departments when necessary.
11. Complete all assigned duties inside or outside the normal scope of responsibilities within the engineering department.
12. Drive carts, bobcats, and ice surfacing machines.
13. Maintain a clean and safe work area in compliance with CSM, brand, local, state, and federal regulations. Use personal protective equipment when needed.
14. Follow all CSM procedures for guest/associate incidents.
15. Be knowledgeable of hotel emergency procedures.
16. Produce required volume of work by planning, organizing, and prioritizing work duties as presented by the Chief Engineer.
17. Adhere to CSM attendance policy, general work rules, and department procedures.
18. Attend all required department and hotel meetings.

Competencies/Skills Required: 2+ years of maintenance experience is preferred. Attention to detail, customer-focused, and the ability to perform job duties in a fast-paced environment.

Education: High School diploma or GED required. CPO and appliance repair certification is desired, or the ability to obtain certification based on property needs. Must have a current and valid driver’s license with a safe driving record.

Physical Requirements: Ability to push, pull, and lift up to 100 pounds on a regular basis throughout the shift.
