The Department of Engineering in the College of Arts and Sciences at Loyola University Chicago seeks qualified candidates for an appointment as Assistant Professor beginning Fall 2025. Engineering at Loyola is relatively new, having graduated its inaugural undergraduate class in 2019 and achieved ABET accreditation in 2020. It is consistently ranked in the Top 60 in the annual U.S. News and World Report Best Undergraduate Programs (No Doctorate) list, and in the Top 10 in the annual American Society for Engineering Education Percentage of Bachelors Degrees Awarded to Women list. The department serves 150 majors and has 3 specializations in the areas of Biomedical, Computer, and Environmental Engineering. We welcome candidates with strong research and teaching profiles in environmental engineering wastewater research. Because Loyola’s Environmental Engineering specialization emphasizes wastewater treatment, we are seeking candidates with significant background in wastewater contaminant removal, alternative wastewater disinfection methods, or stormwater management.

Additional Salary Information:

This salary range is for a nine-month academic appointment. The salary offered to the selected candidate will be determined based on a range of factors including, but not limited to, the experience and qualifications of the selected candidate including years since terminal degree; training; field or discipline; budget availability; internal equity; and external market pay for comparable jobs. Salaries higher than the published maximums may be offered in limited circumstances.
