Job description

"When you work in Hawaii, in addition to learning about the functional aspects of running a hotel — like the proper way to make a bed or how to best handle luggage — it’s critically important to understand Hawaiian culture and the spirit of ‘ohana, or ‘family.’ When opening the first Andaz property in Hawaii, our team participated in Hawaiian culture training to help us understand what ‘ohana truly means. "

The Standard, Mexico City arrives in the historic Tabacalera neighborhood with character, color, and a signature wink. With 206 guestrooms, 27 branded residences, vibrant dining destinations, and a rooftop overlooking the Monumento a la Revolución, we're bringing our unmistakable energy to Latin America.

We're looking for an Engineering Administrative Assistant to be the organizational backbone of our Engineering department. This role is essential in supporting departmental processes, payroll administration, documentation, and coordination efforts that allow our Engineering team to perform at its best.

The Opportunity

At The Standard, every unforgettable guest experience is powered by countless details that happen behind the scenes. We're looking for someone who understands that organization, accuracy, and follow-through are just as important as creativity and service. Someone who enjoys creating order, managing priorities, and supporting operational leaders with confidence and professionalism. As the Engineering Administrative Assistant, you'll play a key role in ensuring the department's administrative and payroll processes run seamlessly while supporting the team that keeps our hotel operating at its highest standards.

What You’ll Do
  • Provide day-to-day administrative support to the Director of Engineering and Engineering leadership team.
  • Manage payroll-related processes, including attendance tracking, overtime reporting, scheduling records, and supporting payroll reviews.
  • Maintain accurate employee records, documentation, departmental files, and administrative reports.
  • Coordinate purchase requests, invoices, work orders, vendor documentation, and departmental approvals.
  • Assist with budget tracking, expense reporting, and financial documentation for the department.
  • Prepare correspondence, reports, presentations, meeting minutes, and operational summaries as required.
  • Coordinate meetings, calendars, and departmental communications.
  • Track compliance-related documentation, permits, certifications, and required records.
  • Support onboarding, uniform coordination, scheduling updates, and administrative requirements for Engineering team members.
  • Maintain departmental databases and ensure information is updated accurately and confidentially.
  • Follow up on pending projects, work orders, and departmental action items.
  • Coordinate communication between Engineering and other hotel departments to ensure efficient operations.
  • Assist in preparing audits, inspections, and internal reporting requirements.
  • Support special projects and operational initiatives led by the Director of Engineering.
What You’ll Bring
  • Previous experience in administrative support, payroll administration, accounting coordination, human resources administration, or a similar role.
  • Experience working in hospitality, hotels, engineering, maintenance, or service-oriented environments is preferred.
  • Strong organizational and time-management skills with exceptional attention to detail.
  • Knowledge of payroll processes, attendance controls, and administrative reporting.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel, Word, and Outlook.
  • Ability to manage confidential information with professionalism and discretion.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to prioritize multiple responsibilities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Fluency in English and Spanish.
  • A proactive, dependable, and detail-oriented approach that feels right at home at The Standard.
