Job summary

OPmobility in Greer, SC is seeking an Engineering Process Leader - Assembly to lead the Manufacturing Engineering Assembly team, drive health, safety and quality standards, and oversee project execution across OPTIMAP/OPTIPRO initiatives.

You will define assembly development parameters, validate equipment, manage budgets and resources, and mentor engineers, with a focus on Lean improvements and 100% safety compliance. Internal and external candidates considered.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree with relevant experience in mechanical, electrical or automation engineering.
• Master’s degree in mechanical, electrical engineering or automation is preferred.
• Fluent English communication skills.
• Strong understanding of health, safety, ergonomics and industrial risk prevention.
• External candidates: experience in a similar position with a Tier 1 automotive supplier.
• Internal candidates: 3+ years in a relevant role (e.g., Senior PPA, MPM, R&I Project Manager, or Plant Assembly Area Manager).

Responsibilities

• Lead the Manufacturing Engineering Assembly team and manage day-to-day activities.
• Recruit, onboard, train and support new employees.
• Define the assembly development-hour budget and manage costs.
• Ensure 100% equipment validation before transfer and plant buy-off.
• Apply OPmobility standards (POMS, TESIS, KEOPS, OPTIMAP, OPTIPRO, HSE pillars).
• Provide operational support and drive continuous improvement in assembly processes.
