Job summary

Constellation Energy Corp. in the United States is seeking a Fire Protection Program Engineer at multiple levels to ensure the Fire Protection Program meets regulatory requirements and NFPA standards. You will lead program health reporting, documentation, and engineering evaluations for fire safety systems.

The role collaborates with engineering, operations, maintenance, and oversight bodies to uphold safety and licensing commitments across facilities.

Responsibilities

• Prepare regular Program Health Reports/KPIs for Fire Protection and FLEX.
• Maintain and update program documentation and procedures with regulatory alignment.
• Perform engineering evaluations on fire barriers, detection, suppression, and safe‑shutdown features.
• Review and approve design changes affecting fire protection systems or licensing.
• Lead or support fire protection inspections, self‑assessments, and audits.
• Support fire protection issue evaluations and CAP investigations.

• Expected salary range:
• Entry Level - $76,000
• Mid-level: $ 96,000 - $ 108,000
• Senior Level: $128,000- $144,000

Ranges are per year based on experience, along with a comprehensive benefits package that includes bonus and 401K

Primary Purpose of Position - Fire Protection Program Engineer

The Fire Protection Program Engineer (FPPE) is the station's technical authority responsible for implementing and maintaining the Fire Protection Program in accordance with regulatory requirements, fleet procedures, and NFPA standards.

The FPPE provides technical leadership, supports regulatory inspections, maintains program health, and collaborates closely with engineering, operations, maintenance, corporate fire protection, and external oversight bodies

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare regular Program Health Reports/KPIs for Fire Protection and FLEX.
• Maintain and update program documentation, including FPR, Safe Shutdown Analysis, and procedures. Ensuring compliance with regulations and commitments.
• Perform engineering evaluations, calculations, and reviews on fire barriers, detection, suppression, and safe-shutdown features.
• Review and approve design changes affecting fire protection systems or licensing basis.
• Lead or support Fire Protection Inspections (NRC, NEIL, NOS), self-assessments, OPEX/IR reviews, and audits.
• Support fire protection issue evaluation and CAP investigations.
• Participate in peer calls, and industry committees (INPO, NEI, NFPA).

Minimum Qualifications:

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS for Assoc Engineering Analyst/E01

• Bachelor's degree in a technical field (non-engineer) OR Associate's degree in a technical field and 1+ yrs of nuclear or related industry experience
  OR
• High School Diploma/GED and a minimum of 2 years nuclear experience
• Maintain minimum access requirement or unescorted access requirements, as applicable, and favorable medical examination and/or testing in accordance with position duties

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS for Engineering Analyst/E02

• Bachelor's degree in a technical field (non-engineer) and 2+ yrs of nuclear or related industry experience OR
• Associate's degree in a technical field and 3+ yrs of nuclear or related industry experience
  OR
• High School Diploma/GED and a min of 5 years applicable nuclear experience
• Working knowledge of engineering processes and systems required for the specific functional area
• Maintain minimum access requirement or unescorted access requirements, as applicable, and favorable medical examination and/or testing in accordance with position duties
  

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS for Engineering Analyst/E03

• Bachelor's degree in a technical field (non-engineer) and 5 + yrs of nuclear or related industry experience
  OR
• Associate's degree in a technical field and 7+ yrs of nuclear or related industry experience
  OR
• High School Diploma/GED and a min of 8 years nuclear experience or related experience of which 5 years should be at the exempt level
• Working knowledge of engineering processes and systems required for the specific functional area
• Maintain minimum access requirement or unescorted access requirements, as applicable, and favorable medical examination and/or testing in accordance with position duties
