Job summary

Weekes Forest Products, Inc in Lincoln, NE is an employee-owned distributor of engineered wood components and industrial lumber. As an Engineered Wood Material Handler, you will focus on safety and quality while following procedures to protect our employee owners, working as part of an active operations team.

Responsibilities include pulling inventory, cutting to size, packing for delivery, loading/unloading trucks and rail cars, keeping the yard clean and safe, and reading tape measures.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED or equivalent experience with building materials.
• Experience with building materials and hand power tools.
• Forklift qualified.
• Experience using a chainsaw.
• Physical ability to stand for extended periods and lift heavy materials.

Responsibilities

• Pull inventory and cut product to size according to specifications.
• Package units for delivery to minimize damage during shipping.
• Ensure orders are 100% accurate.
• Load/unload trucks and rail cars of building materials.
• Keep the yard clean, well-organized, and safe.
• Demonstrate strong basic math and read a tape measure.
• Willingness to work outdoors in various weather conditions.
• Operate a chainsaw to cut material to size.
• Read and comprehend documents; write routine reports and correspondence.
• Follow instructions and handle simple problems with concrete variables.

As an Engineered Wood Material Handler, you will be responsible for keeping a high level of focus on safety while following procedures and policies that help to protect all our employee owners. This position is an integral part of our operations team and will require you to assist and work with others on the team. • Forklift Qualified.
