Oldcastle BuildingEnvelope in the United States seeks an Engineering Manager to lead Design Engineering and Production Engineering, shaping fabrication specifications and delivery. You will mentor staff, drive process improvements, and collaborate with sales, architects, and manufacturing.

Qualifications

• B.S. in Mechanical, Civil, or Architectural Engineering preferred.
• 5+ years of engineering management experience in a manufacturing environment.
• 5+ years of engineer-to-order manufacturing.
• 3+ years in fabrication, submission applications, or design engineering.
• Strong organizational & project planning skills, including scheduling & performance metric ownership.
• Background in building, construction, remodel, or retrofit industries.
• Exposure to architectural metals, sheet metal, or structural glazing adjacent fabrication.
• Familiarity with CNC or production software inputs.

Responsibilities

• Lead and develop engineering staff through coaching and performance management.
• Foster engagement, accountability, and trust to improve retention.
• Prepare detailed product layouts, BOMs, and fabrication drawings.
• Manage Production Engineering to meet budgets and on-time delivery.
• Translate order information into manufacturing-ready BOMs, cut data, drawings.
• Coordinate launches of new and revised products.
• Serve as technical resource for sales and project management.
• Coordinate with architects, sales, and dealers on products and methods.
• Collaborate daily with manufacturing to resolve issues.
• Apply analysis to reduce costs and improve quality and efficiency.
• Design, test, cost-justify tools, machinery, equipment for methods.
• Discuss capabilities and launch considerations with management and design.
• Identify opportunities to reduce revisions and value-engineer projects.
• Represent manufacturing and engineering on cross-functional teams.

What You'll Get to Do

As Engineering Manager, you'll lead two interconnected engineering functions from a single management seat, overseeing both Design Engineering (partnering with commercial teams to translate customer requirements into fabrication-ready specs for custom extrusion orders) and Production Engineering (receiving signed contracts and designing all windows to customer specification through delivery). This is a leader-of-leaders role with broad influence over how our engineering group operates, performs, and grows.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead, mentor, & develop engineering staff through hands‑on coaching, structured performance management, & career development
• Foster a culture of engagement, accountability, & trust that strengthens team cohesion & retention
• Manage the preparation of detailed product layout drawings, bills of material, & related fabrication & component drawings for specific projects
• Manage the Production Engineering process to maintain budgeted volumes & on‑time delivery
• Own the overall coordination of translating customer order information into manufacturing‑ready formats bills of materials, cutting information, & drawings used by purchasing & production
• Coordinate the manufacturing launch of new & revised products including establishing goals, training team members, & evaluating results
• Serve as a technical resource for sales & project management teams
• Confer with architects, sales, & dealers on product & installation methods to help define & process project information
• Work closely with manufacturing on a daily basis to resolve project‑related issues & maintain clear communication
• Apply product & process analysis methods to drive cost reduction, quality improvement, & operational efficiency
• Design, develop, test, & cost‑justify tools, machinery, & equipment to support recommended manufacturing methods
• Confer with management, design engineering, & other staff on manufacturing capabilities & new product launch considerations
• Continually identify opportunities to reduce engineering revisions & value‑engineer projects to improve overall margins
• Represent manufacturing & engineering on cross‑functional teams

What We Are Looking For

• B.S. in Mechanical, Civil, or Architectural Engineering preferred
• 5+ years of engineering management experience in a manufacturing environment
• 5+ years of experience in engineer‑to‑order manufacturing
