Job summary

Zeus Industrial Products, headquartered in Orangeburg, South Carolina, seeks an Engineering Technologist to support R&D activities across electro-mechanical domains. You will apply CAD, GD&T and programming to create concepts, tests, and reports for engineering leadership.

Responsibilities include designing subsystems, developing requirements, and coordinating with engineering teams. A 4-year engineering degree and Lean background are preferred; strong communication and hands-on problem solving

Qualifications

• 4 yr. Engineering Degree in Engineering Technology or Mechanical Engineering.
• Experience with Lean Manufacturing Systems or Lean Certification preferred.
• Excellent troubleshooting and problem solving skills.
• Excellent communication skills.
• Detail-oriented, able to handle multiple proj.
• The ability to carry out oral and written instructions along with the ability to adapt to different situations.
• Ability to work in a team environment.
• Physical condition demands being able to push, pull, lift, reach to height of 72", and handle hot material.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with project leadership with the conceptual design of complex electromechanical systems and subsystems
• Collaborate with engineering staff and senior engineering technologists in developing, defining, and/or deriving requirements to support the design of engineering products
• Guide and provide input for technical work activities performed by engineering support staff and/or less experienced engineering technologists
• Research, evaluate, and recommend new engineering products and tooling to support the development of project systems
• Perform design, development, fabrication, installation, and use of custom electrical, mechanical, and software subsystems
• Prepare test plans, procedures, reports, and other forms of formal documentation
• Develop specialized electrical, mechanical, and/or software tools to support testing of complex electromechanical systems
• Utilize computer aided design software to develop electrical, mechanical, and/or software products
• Collaborate with a broad range of interoffice organizations to accomplish all phases of project development
• Conduct tests, provide results, address issues, and recommend modifications related to electrical, mechanical, or software subsystems
• Within specific engineering discipline, maintain an up-to-date knowledge of and work towards developing an advanced knowledge of design & analysis tools, test & measurement equipment, languages, and available products & services.

Qualifications

• Prior experience in polymer extrusion preferred. Plastics experience (Injection / Extrusion) / Extrusion experience (Rubber, etc) / Medical device process is preferred
• 4 yr. Engineering Degree in Engineering Technology or Mechanical Engineering
• Experience with Lean Manufacturing Systems or Lean Certification preferred
• Able to understand and document a process accurately
• Excellent troubleshooting and problem solving skills
• Excellent communication skills
• Detail-oriented, able to handle multiple proj
• The ability to carry out oral and written instructions along with the ability to adapt to different situations
