Job summary

This hands-on role supports product engineering across legacy hardware and next-generation connected devices, focusing on board-level troubleshooting, failure analysis, and prototype bring-up. You will work closely with engineers to turn complex technical challenges into reliable hardware performance, perform root cause analysis, and contribute to hardware validation and test development in a fast-moving

Qualifications

• Associate degree in Electronics Engineering Technology or equivalent experience.
• 3+ years hardware debug, test, or bring-up experience.
• Hands-on experience with oscilloscopes, multimeters, and logic analyzers.
• Experience reading schematics and PCB layouts.
• Experience using JTAG or SWD debug tools.
• Methodical approach to root cause analysis and documentation.
• Comfort working with cellular-connected devices and test equipment.

Responsibilities

• Troubleshoot board-level electrical and firmware issues.
• Perform root cause analysis on field returns and production failures.
• Support prototype and pilot board bring-up.
• Build, rework, and repair prototype and production boards.
• Develop and run hardware validation tests and fixtures.
• Assist with environmental and EMC/EMI pre-compliance testing.
• Document findings and recommend corrective actions.
• Support manufacturing and test troubleshooting efforts.

Compensation: $29/hr - $36/hrdepending on experience

Inceed has partnered with a great company to help find a skilled Engineer Technician to join their team!

This is a hands-on opportunity to support product engineering across both legacy hardware and next-generation connected devices. In this role, you'll be at the center of board-level troubleshooting, failure analysis, and prototype bring-up, helping turn complex technical challenges into reliable product performance. If you enjoy digging into root causes, working closely with engineers, and improving hardware from the ground up, this is a strong direct hire opportunity.

Key Responsibilities & Duties:

• Troubleshoot board-level electrical and firmware issues
• Perform root cause analysis on field returns and production failures
• Support prototype and pilot build board bring-up
• Build, rework, and repair prototype and production boards
• Develop and run hardware validation tests and fixtures
• Assist with environmental and EMC/EMI pre-compliance testing
• Document findings and recommend corrective actions
• Support manufacturing and test troubleshooting efforts

Required Qualifications & Experience:

Nice to Have Skills & Experience:

• Experience with life-safety, security, or emergency communications hardware
• Exposure to environmental or EMC/EMI pre-compliance testing
• Basic Python scripting for test automation or data logging
• Ability to interpret code, breakpoints, and register state
• Experience supporting component obsolescence or second-source testing
