General Summary of Job Responsibilities

The Engineering Technical Analyst is responsible for developing and enhancing standards and materials, including emerging technologies, while ensuring compliance with all applicable regulatory rules and codes. They solve problems for various work groups and communicate standards and directions clearly to engineers and operations, facilitating precise application of standards and technology. The incumbent supports project engineering, design, product/process research, and special projects within their assigned work unit.

The Engineer Technical Analyst manages the design, implementation, maintenance, and administrative support of the Engineering Content Management system (ProjectWise) for record and information lifecycle management. They collaborate with business process owners and vendors to determine and implement system modifications or integrations to meet business needs, providing technical support and training on ProjectWise. Responsibilities include installing, configuring, troubleshooting, and staying current with system upgrades and patches. They partner with IT to troubleshoot ProjectWise infrastructure issues, coordinate development, testing, and releases, and set up ProjectWise components like Rendition, Workflow, and Deliverable Management. They lead user adoption efforts and engagement across the business.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Assist with projects involving multiple company workgroups and external groups through technology enablement and strategic sourcing to ensure successful project completion.
  • Provide engineering and design support using company standards for development of engineering designs.
  • Operate within a CAD environment to perform complex, technical, and scientific work.
  • Participate in process improvement projects utilizing new technologies to enhance efficiencies and infrastructure.
  • Address concerns, investigate suggestions, and support planning, design, procurement, construction, operations, and maintenance groups.
  • Follow and understand existing department standards and procedures.
  • Conduct research and development to update engineering and construction standards, manuals, and tools, ensuring compliance with laws and regulations.
  • Perform field visits and collaborate with field operations on equipment use and specifications.
  • Review plans, specifications, maps, and related materials for projects and utilize information appropriately.
  • Perform other duties as assigned or necessary.
Education/Experience
  • Bachelor's degree in a technical field or related discipline with at least 2 years of relevant experience.
  • Alternatively, an Associate's degree with 4+ years of relevant experience.
  • Or, a High School Diploma/GED with 6+ years of relevant experience.
Preferred Experience
  • Experience implementing and configuring ProjectWise.
  • Knowledge of ProjectWise or similar document management systems like SharePoint, Documentum, Vault, Aconex, etc.
  • Experience with CAD software such as MicroStation, AutoCAD, Civil 3D, etc.
  • Background in software or application configuration, architecture, requirements, development, coding, testing, and deployment.
  • Knowledge of document control and records management processes.
  • Programming skills, e.g., PowerShell.
  • Proficiency with SQL databases and scripting.
  • Experience with software deployment and best practices.
  • Understanding of electronic document management, especially in engineering design contexts.
